What is Myobrace?

Myobrace was established by parent company Myofunctional Research Co. (MRC) that was founded by Dr Chris Farrell in Sydney in 1989.

Myobrace is primarily a no-braces orthodontic approach to help straighten teeth and jaws. Myobrace also offers a range called the Myosa system, which includes sleep appliances suitable for a wide range of patients from young children through to adults, as well as specialty appliances for jaw joint (TMJ) disorder and teeth grinding.

The Myosa system is able to evaluate, diagnose and relieve symptoms, as well as treat the underlying causes, allowing for a more natural function and improved orthodontic outcomes.

How does Myobrace work?

The Myosa System by MRC assists in the integrated treatment of breathing, myofunctional, TMJ and sleep disorders in both children and adults. These conditions affect many patients and are highly under recognised, while few effective treatments exist. The Myosa System is simple, effective and easily integrated into modern practices to address these issues through correction of the underlying causes.

The MyoBrace S2 is the main appliance in the TMJ, Breathing and Disordered Sleep range and works by advancing the lower jaw and opening the bite, which has the effect of opening the airway. It also has numerous other features which help it to treat intracapsular TMJ disorders while improving breathing and myofunctional disorders.

Myobrace at Smile Place Dental

At Smile Place Dental, we provide Myobrace S2, which is suitable for mild snoring, sleep apnea and night grinding. Myobrace S2 does not require sleep studies however the treating Dentist will provide further information and decide if product is right for you.

The cost of Myobrace S2 is approximately $400 – $550.
